St Andrew’s School is a specialist Coeducational Primary School providing excellence in education from playgroup through to early years and on to Year 7. We believe that the Primary years are significant in children’s learning journeys and give them the building blocks for their future. We have faith in the innate capacity of each child. Our desire is to create an environment where the learning experience is engaging, honours individuals enabling them to be curious and creative, builds positive relationships creating a sense of belonging and one that prepares its students to be active citizens who are able to be innovative, passionate and motivated learners today and as citizens of tomorrow.
We have a reputation for exemplary academic standards and an enviable history of achievement in music. We offer the IB Primary Years program and follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy starting from the ELC into the Junior Primary. Students are offered a broad range of educational opportunities and co-curricular activities, enabling them to develop critical thinking skills, to question, to be resourceful and reflective learners thus adding to the learning experiences and capabilities across the school. Our aim is to provide a future focused education, which will equip our students with skills and knowledge for life and inspire them to be contributing global citizens.
Over the last few years we have had a focus on The Classroom as the Third Teacher, Assessment, led by the Institute of Educational assessors, Cultures of thinking/Visible Learning facilitated the leadership team after working with Ron Richardt and Student Agency begun with Yong Zhao and now continuing with Charles Ledbetter.
