Digital or Distracted? Rethinking Technology to Transform Learning
Technology is everywhere in schools, yet access alone does not guarantee better learning. As debates continue around student screen time, one-to-one devices, digital capability, and generative AI, school leaders need evidence-informed approaches that maximise educational impact. This workshop explores what transformative technology integration looks like through the SAMR model and showcases promising practices that move beyond substitution towards authentic learning. Participants will engage with practical examples, reflect on their own contexts, and explore strategies for building teacher capability and scaling effective technology practices across a whole school to improve student outcomes.
