Step outside the conference room and into the heart of the nation’s capital for a day of professional immersion and cultural discovery. This curated program offers a seamless transition from leadership insights in local schools to themed site visits across Canberra.

The Experience
Extend your professional development through a program that blends practical educational takeaways with meaningful cultural immersion. Your day begins with a guided school tour for real-world leadership insights, followed by one of three themed exploration streams:

Stream 1: Civics & Citizenship
School Tour: St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Primary School, Kambah
Site Visits: National Archives of Australia (NAA), National Electoral Education Centre, and the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD)

Stream 2: Science & Environment
School Tour: Throsby School, Throsby
Site Visits: Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG), Royal Australian Mint (RAM), and Questacon

Stream 3: History & Culture
School Tour: Burgmann Anglican School (Valley Campus), Gungahlin
Site Visits: National Museum of Australia (NMA), National Library of Australia (NLA), and the Australian War Memorial (AWM)

Draft Itinerary

08:30: Delegate arrival at the National Convention Centre (NCC)

08:45: Coaches depart for school tours

09:00 – 10:30:  Guided school tours begin

10:30: Tours conclude; delegates board buses to commence themed itinerary

11:00 – 16:15 Themed cultural itineraries commence (includes lunch)

16:30: All delegates gather at the Australian War Memorial for a wreath-laying and the Last Post Ceremony

17:00: Transfer back to the NCC for the official Welcome Reception
